Studies are being done at Atlanta's Emory University that involve using dogs to detect lung cancer in patients. The experiment involves exposing the dogs to samples of the patients breath. The Dogs trained to point out the cancer containing samples.
According to the article, the dogs were able to identify 71 out 100 cancerous samples correctly. The article also states that there is a very low percentage of false positives, and the results were actually even more accurate than some current methods, such as CT scans.
